Guide to Airsoft Weapons

Airsoft guns are increasingly getting popular since they can provide real safety and speed for all adventurous combatants. However, there are various types of airsoft guns available. Let us look into some of its most popular variants.

Gun Types

There are basically three types of gun available to choose from –

• The most robust and cheap weapon available are the spring guns. They tend to be weak as well as they are made of cheap plastics. They lack accuracy and require manual cocking after each shot.

• The most widely used gins are the electric guns. These normally prefer functionality over realism and facilitate hi-cap magazines. As they are powered by rechargeable batteries, they can usually last for a full game. The disadvantage of this gun is that they are misinterpreted as toys. They also lack any recoil and Hi-cap magazines and thus are often a misfit for most 'hard-core' events.

• Gas guns are perhaps the most realistic guns available today. Varying between Non-blowbacks and Gas Blow Back, these are the most in demand airsoft weapons and are often powered by green gas.

Assault Rifles

These are average weapons with run-of the-mill designs. Its models nearly run off on every power source. The most popular item is M4/M16 model. They are normally automatic, medium ranged and satisfactorily accurate. They can be easily modified with few selective models even getting to sniper-like ranges.

Snipers’ Rifles

These rifles are mostly spring powered though other two types also exist. Snipers’ rifles are quite accurate and powerful and thus have a credible satisfaction degree attached to its name. Most of its variants exceed the capabilities of most expensive AEG's on the market which costing just a fraction of it. These systems are mostly L96 and M14 variants.

SMG’s

An Airsoft SMG Gun is an excellent CQB weapon which can safely be placed on same par as assault rifles. These guns can be the ideal equipment even for the most vindictive of players. Their accuracy can range till 100 feet and can empty a magazine in just over one second. Like any SMG, their distinctive feature is their rate of fire. Most of its variants are Mac-11's which makes a terrific MP.

Apart from it, there are various other series like support weapons, shotguns and pistols. Depending on various factors and types of combats, one can choose the one that best suits the purpose.
